2. The attendee will be able to identify gaps on the food availability across the migratory route from South to North America as well as the exposure to risks such as human trafficking, disease, and undernutrition;
3. The attendee will be able to critically discuss the complexity of migration and food security as a pillar of the decision to migrate, and connections with human rights violations.

Webinar Synopsis:

Migratory movements across the Americas have escalated in number and complexities. During this webinar, the speaker will describe the roots of the decision for migration such as food insecurity and hunger in their countries of origins, and tackle whether migrants are caught up in their journey by violent groups, human trafficking and more as part of the risk they embrace to change their previous environments. The speaker will explain the need to address the human rights framework of the migrant population, for a better understanding of the rights of all the spaces and actors involved: the country of arrival, the migrant population and the international community.
